It’s been a while…

So, it’s been a while since I blogged last. Naughty blogger.

It has been a mixture of work and life getting in the way, but now I’m back!

Hopefully you have been keeping up with me some how, some way – maybe Twitter, Facebook or even my Express and Echo column?

Here’s a quick roundup of what I’ve been up to over the last couple of weeks…

I was so proud to join the wonderful team from The Exeter Dental Centre at the Express and Echo Exeter Business Awards on Friday to see them win the Best City Centre Business Award 2014…

Are you #inspired by Twitter?

explore-twitter-s-evolution-2006-to-present-26da93b8c5I am definitely a ‘Tweet Geek’. I love Twitter for a number of reasons; it provides the most up-to-date news, often breaking it, it allows me to follow businesses, colleagues and friends, and last but not least, it has the power to amaze and inspire me!

As a journalist it is hard to admit that the likes of Twitter, and other social media channels, are playing a part in the downturn of newspapers, but I think it’s safe to say that people now log in to their Twitter feeds to get regular updates, instead of visiting news websites.

But, Twitter also has the ability to put something you wouldn’t ordinarily see, right under your nose…

Take yesterday, a fellow ‘Tweet-heart’ @Cosmic_Matty, tweeted that a hotel in Washington DC was offering a very special deal (at an eye-watering £47k!) for the inauguration of US President Barack Obama that included a personal Social Media Butler.

For those of you not in the know, this is someone who is on hand to tweet, Instagram and post to Facebook your every move.

Wow. Yet again social media baffles and amazes me.

But then again, isn’t this just what every good social media guru, marketeer and PR person worth their salt is already doing behind the scenes of any given company?!

So, with that in mind, let’s all embrace our inner butler and tweet, post, blog and Instagram away to our heart’s delight!

I hope this inspires you.
